SEBASTIAN SACCUZZO
Partner

Sebastian has specialised in Banking and Finance Law for most of his professional life.  Among Sebastian’s skills and experience is his ability to ensure long term quality service provision to major clients including National Australia Bank and Suncorp Metway Limited.

In particular, Sebastian has acted for many of Australia's major, regional and foreign Banks and financiers and has extensive experience in commercial and specialist financing including the preparation of standard form documents and securities for use by financiers throughout Australia, mortgage Fund Management and various aspects of securitisation of loan portfolios.  Sebastian also has experience in the financing of large scale land subdivisions, major buildings and shopping centres in CBD and regional centres, film and tax based financing, invoice and debtor financing.

Sebastian is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance, a recent past member of the Law Institute of Victoria Financial Services Committee (Chairman 1988, 1999) and the Law Institute of Victoria Commercial Law Section Executive (Chairman 1999 - 2001).  He is currently a member of the Banking and Financial Services Law Association Ltd


PAUL MCCARTHY
Partner

Paul has more than ten years experience in litigation, predominantly for corporate clients in the areas of banking and finance, insolvency and insurance.  He focuses on achieving the best possible outcome for clients in a cost effective manner.

He has particular experience in the provision of advice and conducting litigation in banking and finance matters, contractual and other commercial disputes and the carriage of various debt recovery files. He has gained considerable experience in the enforcement of judgments to maximise recoveries for his clients.


NATHAN BRUNT
Senior Associate

Nathan has particular experience in bankruptcy and insolvency matters, banking and finance matters, contractual and trade practices disputes and negligence disputes. Nathan has represented clients in the Magistrates', County, Supreme and Federal Courts, and appeared in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal.


RODERICK TAN
Solicitor

Roderick joined Russell Kennedy in 2006, as part of the Banking and Financial Services team.  Prior to joining Russell Kennedy, Roderick practised as a banking & finance lawyer with another mid-tier firm servicing mainly major and regional banks. 

Roderick practices in the areas of law involving  finance and securities, commercial development finance and commercial property finance. He has substantial experience in the drafting and preparation of security documents relevant to loan facilities for both corporate and commercial transactions. This includes the provision of advice to lenders/banks on the structuring of facilities and securities; restructuring and enforcement of securities. 

Roderick’s practical experience as an ex-banker with several major Australian banks, provides him with the ability to blend legal and commercial issues in a complex industry into sound commercial solutions. In addition to his considerable financial background, Roderick has specialised skills in Banking and Finance Law and has a demonstrated ability to meet tight work schedules to ensure transactions proceed as scheduled.

Roderick is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and The Law Society of New South Wales. 


ADRIAN KENNEDY
Solicitor

Adrian is a commercial litigation solicitor who practices in our Banking and Finance team. He completed his articles with Russell Kennedy in 2005.

Adrian primarily practices in the areas of banking and finance litigation, and contractual and commercial disputes. He also has experience of property recovery, alternative dispute resolution and insolvency matters.

He has previous experience in a regulatory capacity working in the fields of private sector and insolvency law reform.
